    Nah. King Alf road the first 30mph 25 in British competition in 1978 on a steel 531 frame, no aero handlebars, no clipless pedals and no special food supliments. And of course he also had a job six days of the week.

    Yes, I think he is. His winning margins over the best in the world in top class races repeated many times and over varied distances are evidence enough.
